Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said, F) c; ~/ L3 c3 ?$ T
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
3 T( S% h, G; M; ?! l& uhost for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with8 a3 Q5 L, w- _; s$ _$ c3 E
whoever else is on the same server as you.
( `( ^ p" ]- v2 |8 PSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast* A0 N0 _8 C4 ?* s8 `. O j9 K/ P A
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3, ]/ T) O; U6 {8 i+ P
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
$ G+ d I1 A0 ]To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a7 m- W/ l% W+ N; F) a: ~. V

! U2 {- S+ g9 ~9 H4 T; V: h* s5 sIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside& Q! L. g0 @1 o0 i7 F

their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
8 D, J2 J9 r m. L7 G) k1 HIf you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
7 q( i( E0 q, p- @) Rany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.
+ Z/ l ]. a$ O: W; D8 T+ h5 qIn the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space( T6 a1 L5 ?/ g" K/ J0 |* n

partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time." ^% O) Y6 l- Z: u7 k: y7 e( L6 I
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources

At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.* e* L N3 U# ^3 B6 ?
