Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
, t- G0 F% F+ y" Uabout internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
P. m/ w D, b7 h4 F( |6 @host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with) _6 ], |; L* w
whoever else is on the same server as you.5 m/ |% s3 \3 k/ z) a
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast6 I& @: D& k' I o9 a/ C4 |5 O8 W
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3# ^( a, b/ Q1 f
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
& b/ z: F" _+ }2 c( Y2 p7 WTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a
: x0 T3 J8 v6 bhouse full of roommates (hosting customers).. N6 e! f( ` i# b
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside* y- K! Y+ g5 i& f# a1 B
the fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will
X9 H4 g( G5 {/ F5 @6 s3 `, Tfit.0 |0 O' b1 Y3 h; O9 s: h8 q- T% G

the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
0 l7 p l0 Q5 M7 U/ ~" h# \% itheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
) H5 P5 a6 A' C2 X$ v. CIf you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
, d. ?. ^( B3 b# B) M* e. U: sany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.) D3 m" r2 r! x' j& W4 |* {, f: M1 u
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space* ^. X& @! V$ L/ \( `
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is s7 I9 D6 ]9 D6 E6 `
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.
& J6 A3 y, W5 l& C( t# Q) MA dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources, G; C0 |: J2 S2 c

traffic, faster.: m# B7 s, u9 y8 u; l' {1 g) v
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
