Set Up Web Hosting
2 p' v7 `+ n. p0 ~% H3 FGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
) a5 T& v1 \4 S, S( H1 r% }about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
1 ]. ]1 U ] O8 o3 f9 C! u/ Yhost for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with' Z6 S: Z& E1 U% w/ d' S2 x( Y
whoever else is on the same server as you.+ L% T- h8 Y* R# }4 x m6 ~
Speed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast( k/ L" ]: u& _9 o
enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3
9 c; N$ r# e- B' B. H9 i2 ^seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
: O) {" _: U. P6 QTo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a# k; |$ u4 V2 I8 C3 ?2 n( i
house full of roommates (hosting customers).+ E/ g5 H2 ? y7 y) N, s) S# z. @
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside1 K2 G u# j' t" Z8 q, D2 R; V

their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.$ d. Z6 [" |1 t( @' w7 d3 J6 k1 [1 a
If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For5 a$ y, y$ ~4 U# _
any type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.
& ~. V2 y. P' i( X6 hIn the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space
1 X+ Y4 u8 ?" U" e$ i! }$ a# qinside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is
( [2 ^4 W" S: Y/ ^& F8 k( A1 epartitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.# W1 n" d- J7 u4 J& |
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources
. ]; h5 ~3 b' ^3 l: ~belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more$ u7 X! O3 K" I* `
traffic, faster.
+ U' t' y0 g" ]7 x: j/ L+ p4 XAt the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
