to start looking for networks is Offervault which lists offers and lets you compare payouts across

Getting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said. H4 T; U; B$ D/ U3 |( c
about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared/ j' Y9 T! J/ E6 R1 B4 G
host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with3 p# \- I8 m+ N) K' l
whoever else is on the same server as you.
4 I6 Q- L4 \) S# x" y3 YSpeed is the name of the game in PPV traffic. Your offers and landing pages need to pop up fast
0 j9 x% I9 D% i# z8 h5 G4 H! {enough that the visitor can't close the window before your pop up is even shown. You have about 3; N) r" V% t- z) c
seconds before the user can get that window shut. If your offer doesn't show in that time, tough luck.
1 v' u2 v4 j$ M2 k% ETo explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a
3 K0 {6 W# e! ?$ zhouse full of roommates (hosting customers).
0 G% g/ w U$ UIn shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside
, S. ~7 X$ A. }- S, fthe fridge where they are supposed to put their food. Everyone just jams their food in however it will1 A: w# B1 G; L. o
fit.7 c- t0 F5 C& x- Z' G
Say your roommate brings home a large turkey. They will then take up more of the refrigerator than$ S2 d u; m7 M( g
the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate5 j q- F. f7 r# i2 }( ` W. W( V% d
their food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
1 o3 y1 S3 K' ?2 \If you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
+ e- Q! z8 ^3 ~3 B5 a% Z7 t* A! dany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.
5 q$ G8 ~) x; \9 i+ v/ w# lIn the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space5 `3 R2 ] i# r2 @6 h) \6 M7 R
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is' c* v( }# b/ t% l# o
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.( Q4 B8 p% K7 u( @1 q9 c- H9 L4 x; k
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources: n G9 n8 |. R
belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more
& }$ j+ `* S8 ?6 g; Ltraffic, faster.
& D4 x9 g# \. b. I' E+ Q% pAt the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
