$ f! D( r# y! gGetting an internet hosting account is beyond the scope of this guide, but a few things need to be said
% _3 i, e, K! X- }about internet hosting. In general, you get what you pay for with hosting. When you use a shared
# g- H( Z6 I" t0 ~host for PPV traffic, you are putting yourself at huge risk because your bandwidth is shared with; L* \# D5 P! F2 k9 ^+ P3 N* K! i

To explain the difference between types of hosting packages, picture a refrigerator (the server) in a" N3 o% o$ V h0 ~) F
house full of roommates (hosting customers).% z( t9 d; C( T. v4 _
In shared hosting, this is like having roommates where everyone has no specific designated area inside* Y# Q6 Y5 ]" A9 H

the rest of the roommates, by virtue of simply needing more space and resources to accommodate
, s; J3 F* a* g) i, ^3 itheir food. Everyone else's food in the house has less space to take advantage of.
% x/ x1 R1 d4 Y; x( O E7 dIf you have less server resources to take advantage of, your ability to serve popups will slow down. For
8 a6 F M! l; w* p0 Qany type of hosting this is a bad thing, and especially while running PPV traffic.9 ~% t( d0 J! Z% G: ^( c" J+ P
In the case of a virtual private server (VPS), everyone in the house has their own designated space& @& }- D+ I5 R5 p! r
inside the fridge to put their food, and other roommates can't come into that space. The server is7 e3 d! \( o. }8 A. i
partitioned, so that each customer can only use a specific amount of resources at any given time.4 T$ w; K `. ~: {& g6 `
A dedicated server would be like having the whole fridge to yourself. All of the server's resources
% t A# U& ^% }% v. S7 n5 _7 `belong to you and no one else can use up those resources. This makes it possible to serve much more- \: ^$ Q; J7 a$ g- U# `1 x% p
traffic, faster., L' j( W8 ^- M. T S8 `" m1 ~, }
At the very minimum, you need a VPS to run PPV traffic, and at higher volumes, a dedicated server.
